Text To Protect
As we get closer to the start of school on August 7th there is an important number you should have in your phone as well as your child's phone:
256-604-2345
This Text-To-Protect number is available to all citizens to report confidential information and tips to PROTECT our students and schools. This number can also be used to leave a voice mail message, or if you prefer you can email your tips to texttoprotect@madisonal.gov.
This number is monitored by our Dispatchers at the 911 Center 24/7. Our SRO's will follow-up on tips with Madison City Schools administrators. Our goal with this program is to keep your children safe. If you see or hear something which may have an affect on students and/or school safety please report it to law enforcement for follow-up by using this number.
Posters about the Text-To-Protect program will be placed in our middle and high schools reminding the students of it's availability.

We hope you will join our PTA and come to our monthly meetings. Adults and children are welcome at our meetings and oftentimes we have food drinks and cookies, as well as spirit wear for sale. At our meetings we provide updates on current and upcoming PTA events, review the PTA budget, and open the floor for comments, among other matters. Our meetings will usually be the second Monday of most months in our school cafeteria at 6:00pm.

Calling all Men over 18!
The Watch D.O.G.S. need you!

The Horizon Watch D.O.G.S. program has volunteer opportunities each day of the week and for shifts as short as 15 minutes for the men in the lives of our students. Help is needed with greeting students at the morning or afternoon bus and car lines, helping students in the computer lab, reading books to students, shelving books in the library, interacting with students at lunch and more. This is a great opportunity to make a positive male difference in our students' lives. For more information, visit our Watch D.O.G.S. page.
