Get to Know Our PTA Programs,
and School Programs the PTA Supports
The PTA Reflections Program is an annual creative arts competition open to all Horizon Elementary students. This program allows students to display their artistic talents, creativity and vision through their choice of several artistic mediums, including the written word, visual arts, music or movement. Awards will be granted per school, and winners who advance will compete against the other winners in our school district, and those advancing go on to state and possibly nationals. It is open to all grades and will take place in the early part of the school year. For more information about Reflections, visit our Reflections page,
Donuts for Dads
The PTA is proud to present Donuts for Dads, an event that brings dads into our school to celebrate with their children, and that acts as a kick-off party for Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students). This is always a fun and much appreciated event, and we look forward to seeing all the dads and kids there this year. The event is held in the morning before school, on September 8 this year.
Muffins with Moms
The PTA is proud to present Muffins with Moms, a day that brings moms into our school to celebrate with their children. Last year's inaugural event was hugely popular, and this year's event will be even better! This event is held in the spring, and will take place in the morning before school.
Fire Safety Week
With the help of the Madison City Firefighters, during fire safety week our students learn how to stay safe in a fire. They get to tour the traveling "Fire House" and learn how to escape from a burning building. PTA helps coordinate this event along with the school.
